I got into this business by accident really. As an avid collector of all kinds of music on vinyl & later CD, I began disposing of parts of my collection I no longer listened to. This gained momentum when I registered with ebay in 2000. By 2002 I was buying & selling which finally led to me leaving my well paid day job & company car in May 2004 to be come a full time record dealer. About the same time John Porteous of Pet Sounds asked me if I would consider taking over the running of the long standing Middlesbrough Record Fair. Initially saying ‘no' I decided after sleeping on it to give it a try. The first of these fairs took place on Saturday September 18 th & was a great success. Since then I have started a new Record Fair at the Gala Theatre, Durham plus having a go at getting Sunderland Record Fair back to former glories.
As well as running these 3 record fairs I'm also running a smaller one at Northallerton which as well as the usual collectable records & CD's, I also take lots of A to Z CD's for all types of music tastes selling at about £6 or £7 each.
As well as my own record fairs I also regularly attend fairs all over the North of England & North Midlands run by Premier Fairs, Createworks & Pet Sounds. If you live near any of these fairs & want to save on postage please check out where I am on my fairs page & I can bring your order with me.
As well as the items I have listed on this site I have 1000's more, it will probably take me years to list them all. If you want anything out of the ordinary please send me your list of wants regardless of size & I will see if I've got it hidden away somewhere. Also because I am attending fairs all over the country I can maybe find what you want at one of these.
As a sole trader I do everything & pride myself on giving the sort of service I'd expect to receive. Nearly all orders are sent out same or next day on clearance of payment.
And finally if you're wondering about the name, it's quite boring really. In my last 2 jobs I was highly involved in selling bus parts & as my name is Stewart I got the nickname Stewy The Bus that evolved into Stewybus. When registering with NTL & ebay, just about every name I tried to use was already taken by one or the other so I used Stewybus that was available on both, so there it is.
